Veteran actress Kathryn Crosby (90), known for her roles in films like “The 7th Voyage of Sinbad” and for being the widow of famed singer and actor Bing Crosby, passed away Friday night at her home in Hillsborough, California. She was 90 years old.
The cause of death was reported to be natural causes by a family spokesperson on Saturday.
Crosby, born Kathryn Grant, began her acting career in the 1950s, appearing in films such as “Cell 2455 Death Row” and “Tight Spot”. She went on to star alongside Hollywood heavyweights like Tony Curtis in “Mister Cory” (1957) and Victor Mature in “The Big Circus” (1959).
In 1957, she met Bing Crosby on the set of the western film “High Tor”. The couple married the following year. Kathryn Crosby largely retired from acting after their marriage, but did appear in a handful of films with her husband, including “Oscar” (1966).
“We are deeply saddened by the loss of our dear Kathryn,” said a family member in a statement as said by Variety. “She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and a great friend to many. Her light will be deeply missed.”
Tributes for the actress have begun to pour in on social media, with many remembering her for her talent and grace.
